By purchasing our services, paying an invoice, paying a deposit, or approving a project quotation, you agree to the terms set out in this Refund Policy.

1. Our Services

47 Web Design provides professional digital services, including but not limited to:

  • Website design and development
  • E-commerce website development
  • SEO services
  • Website maintenance
  • Hosting services
  • Branding and digital design services
  • Content, strategy, and technical website support

Most of our services are custom-made, project-based, and tailored to the specific requirements of each client.

2. Deposits and Advance Payments

For most web design and development projects, we may require a deposit or advance payment before work begins.

Deposits are used to secure your project slot, begin planning, allocate development time, carry out research, prepare initial layouts, create project structure, and start any agreed work.

Once work has started, deposits are generally non-refundable, unless we are unable to provide the agreed service.

3. Cancellation Before Work Starts

If you cancel your project before any work has started, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund.

However, any costs already incurred by us may be deducted from the refund. This may include planning time, consultation time, software costs, third-party fees, domain-related costs, hosting setup, research, or administrative work already completed.

4. Cancellation After Work Has Started

If you cancel the project after work has started, any refund will be assessed based on the amount of work already completed.

We reserve the right to charge for:

  • Time already spent on the project
  • Design concepts already created
  • Development work already completed
  • SEO work already carried out
  • Content or strategy work already prepared
  • Meetings, consultations, and project planning
  • Any third-party costs paid on your behalf

If the value of the work completed is greater than the amount already paid, no refund will be issued and additional payment may be required.

5. Completed Projects

Once a website, design, SEO setup, or digital project has been completed and delivered, payments are non-refundable.

A project is considered completed when:

  • The agreed work has been delivered
  • The website or service has been made available for review
  • The website has been launched
  • The client has approved the work verbally, by email, message, or written confirmation
  • The client has used, published, or benefited from the completed work

Minor revisions, bug fixes, or agreed adjustments do not qualify for a refund, but we will aim to resolve genuine issues within the agreed project scope.

6. Website Design and Development Refunds

Because website design and development services are custom digital services created specifically for each client, refunds are not usually available once the work has started.

If you are unhappy with the direction of the project, you must notify us as soon as possible so we can review your concerns and attempt to resolve the issue.

Refunds will not be issued simply because:

  • You changed your mind
  • Your business plans changed
  • You no longer need the website
  • You did not provide content, images, or information on time
  • You delayed the project
  • You requested a different style after approving the original direction
  • You chose not to continue after work was already completed

7. SEO Services

SEO services are non-refundable once work has started.

SEO involves research, technical optimisation, content planning, on-page improvements, indexing support, competitor analysis, keyword work, and ongoing strategy. These services require time and cannot be returned once delivered.

We do not guarantee specific search engine rankings, traffic levels, leads, or sales, as search engine performance depends on many external factors outside our control.

8. Hosting and Maintenance Services

Hosting and maintenance services are usually billed monthly, yearly, or according to the agreed package.

Refunds are not normally provided for hosting, maintenance, or support periods that have already started.

If you wish to cancel an ongoing hosting or maintenance service, you must notify us in writing. Cancellation will apply from the next billing period, unless otherwise agreed.

Any domain name, hosting, plugin, software, licence, or third-party service purchased on your behalf is non-refundable once purchased or activated.

9. Third-Party Costs

Any third-party costs paid on your behalf are non-refundable.

This may include, but is not limited to:

  • Domain names
  • Hosting services
  • Premium plugins
  • Premium themes
  • Stock images
  • Software licences
  • Email services
  • Payment gateway fees
  • API fees
  • External developer or specialist costs

These costs are subject to the refund policies of the third-party providers.

10. Digital Products and Custom Work

Where we provide digital products, downloadable materials, website files, design files, custom code, or other digital assets, refunds are not available once the files or access have been delivered, downloaded, shared, installed, or made available to you.

11. Revisions and Corrections

We aim to provide a professional service and will make reasonable efforts to correct genuine errors within the agreed scope of work.

If something has not been completed according to the agreed brief, we will review the issue and, where appropriate, correct it.

A refund will not be issued where the issue can reasonably be resolved through revisions, corrections, or technical support.

12. Client Responsibilities

To complete your project properly, we may require information, content, images, access details, approvals, and feedback from you.

Refunds will not be issued where delays or problems are caused by:

  • Failure to provide required information
  • Failure to provide website content or images
  • Failure to respond to project messages
  • Incorrect information supplied by the client
  • Delayed approvals
  • Changes to the original project brief
  • Lack of access to required accounts, hosting, domains, or platforms

13. Consumer Cancellation Rights

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you may have certain legal rights, including a 14-day cancellation period for some online purchases.

However, where you request that we begin work during the cancellation period, you agree that you may be charged for any work completed up to the point of cancellation.

Where custom digital work has already started or digital content has already been supplied, your right to cancel may be limited in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.

Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights.

14. Business Clients

If you are purchasing our services on behalf of a business, company, organisation, or self-employed activity, your purchase will normally be treated as a business-to-business transaction.

Business clients do not automatically receive the same cancellation rights as consumers unless specifically agreed in writing.
